How Nike Missed the Boom in Running Culture. Steve Jobs said that even the best and most historic brands need love and care. Nike is no exception. At least in the running world. Competitors engage in grassroot marketing to topple the Goliath and so far they have been successful. Meanwhile, Nike has failed to delivery on its DTC strategy, to the point that the CEO was sued by shareholders for misleading them. The iconic company needs a reset, it seems.
As Aldi grows, so does its environmental impact. I love Aldi and I love that they put their money where their mouth is, when it comes to being a leader in environmental impact. It’s hard work, it’s real financial investments. Not just pure talk. From a business standpoint, the likes of Apple and Aldi carve out a special niche for themselves by doing what they believe is right. Consumers, I think, will grow to be more environmentally conscious and when that happens, Aldi and Apple will be in a good place after doing the hard work.
Business Breakdowns with MongoDB CEO. I like a few management practices that he shared in this chat. The first is that whenever he hears about a problem, he digs deeper. Simply because as CEO, he is usually the last person to hear about it and the problem tends to be watered down already. Another good practice he shared is that managers and executives should share why a request matters and is important.

JPMorgan Warns Customers: Prepare to Pay for Checking Accounts. As long as the interest rates and savings APRs remain high, I don’t believe Chase will levy fees on checking accounts. They will risk driving customers away. The likes of Capital One offer 4.25% APY on their savings account and no fees on checking accounts. Yes, the cap on credit card late fees will hurt, but the influx of deposits will enable more loans and lower borrowing costs.

How thousands of Americans got caught in fintech’s false promise and lost access to bank accounts. I support those who are crazy enough to be entrepreneurs and found startups. I wish them nothing but success. However, I’d recommend anyone to bank with an established financial institution. Whatever small extra benefits offered by fintechs cannot offset the liquidity risk.
Scooters and 3-wheelers are really what’s driving an EV revolution.”Electric passenger cars made impressive gains between 2019 and 2021, more than doubling the global fleet from 7 million to 16.7 million. They now constitute 9% of the overall car market, according to data from the 2022 Electric Vehicle Outlook report by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), released in June. But those numbers pale in comparison to the global fleet of electric two- and three-wheelers, which, as of last year, reached 274.7 million vehicles on the road, comprising 42% of all sales of these smaller vehicles. (Analysts say that these figures represent low estimates, because many smaller vehicles are not officially registered).”
